DominIoT Design

Installation in five steps

1. Connection of your technical equipment and sensors

DominIoT provides the PLCs for connecting to the technical equipment that allow these devices to be controlled and controlled remotely by wired or wireless link. The DominIoT solution supports the main connection protocols of most technical equipment (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, KNX, TCP/IP) which makes it easily deployable on your site.

This property provides flexibility to connect technical equipment and sensors for multiple application areas (e.g. BMS or agriculture).

2. Networking of your equipment for data transmission and long-distance control.

DominIoT provides the routers, wired and/or wireless, to connect the PLCs to the central server. The main standard communication protocols are supported to best tailor the solution to your needs.

Wireless: LORA, LORAWAN, WiFi, ZigBee, 4G/5G, Cat-M&NBIOT, Wifi Halow

And/or wired: Ethernet, RS485, powerline;

3. Connect the IoT network to the IT

DominIoT proposes to implement the connection between the IoT network and the company’s information technologies (IT) in order to enable the collection, in real time, of data from sensors as well as advanced automation of equipment on field. This approach paves the way for smarter and more competitive decision-making, promotes innovation and enables process optimization.

Our solution therefore offers a seamless connection between IoT and IT devices through the use of an encrypted and robust communication protocol such as MQTT. This protocol guarantees the confidentiality and integrity of data passing between IoT equipment and sensors and IT systems.

In short, the success of this connection lies in the judicious combination of protocols, gateways and personalized architectures, aligned with the particular objectives of the company.

4. Supervision and control with the DominIoT App

The DominIoT supervision application, installed in the Cloud or locally, connects and controls technical equipment and sensors. DominIoT provides the central server and its associated application which is accessible locally or remotely.

The central server presents an interactive dashboard displaying data and status, alerts and analysis.

All data and system actions are backed up in order to keep records, perform data analysis and perform system restoration.

AI algorithms support the operator in supervision and automatic predictive analysis.

The DominIoT application is of NoCode type, which allows its online functionality to be extended.

5. Implementing Cybersecurity

Cybersecurity is a major concern for DominIoT, as the expansion of the number of connected devices increases the potential for vulnerabilities and cyber threats. DominIoT integrates security practices at all levels, from the device, the networks, and the application. Key aspects of cybersecurity include:

  • Robust authentication and authorization to ensure that only authorized devices have access to the network with control over their actions,
  • Encrypting data against interception or unauthorized access,
  • Traffic monitoring to detect suspicious traffic patterns or malicious activity,
  • A continuous threat and vulnerability management service to identify and mitigate potential risks.

Implementation of the solution

The 5 technical steps for implementing the DominIoT solution are accompanied by a visual connection plan (illustration below) that will have been defined with you.

It takes into account the connection of your equipment, sensors, PLCs and IoT communication network management means as well as their connection to the application server in the cloud or locally.

Beyond the example below which concerns BMS, the DominIoT solution covers all use cases shown here.
